Predicted milk production per hectare based on yield and chemical composition of native and hybrid maize silage varieties on temperate and tropical regions

The objective of the present study was to characterize maize silage according chemical composition, yield, as well their predicted milk production. A search made on studies related density, composition (DM, CP, NDF, starch), and dry matter digestibility (DMD). In this study, 41 varieties from temperate regions 101 tropical origin were analyzed. net energy lactation (NEL Mcal/kg DM), kilograms per t (kg milk/t hectare milk/ha) determined. cluster (CL) analysis performed, six CL obtained. CL1 included for matter, crude protein, neutral detergent fiber, NEL, kg DM. CL2 characterized by with highest number plants NDF. CL3 ash content. CL4 consisted intermediate values all variables. CL5 forage yield (t DM/ha) milk/ha whereas CL6 milk/t. Overall, resulted in DMD producing more Results suggested that ideal option is a higher than 35 % DM (CL5) since produces hectare.
